1. Choose a preset
Press ‘Start with a free preset’ in the maker or choose a preset image. Presets do not require sign-in. Uploading your own photo requires sign-in.
2. Choose tiles and optional settings
Start with the default 3x3 grid for 9 PNGs. A 2x2 grid makes 4 images, 4x4 makes 16 and 5x5 makes 25. Crop and reveal order are optional. Tiles without a specified order are revealed in random order.
3. Generate the quiz
Press ‘Create quiz images’ below the settings. The button shows how many images will be created. Once all images are ready, the maker takes you to the results. Each round reveals one more tile.
4. Save each PNG in order
Press Save on the first round, then Next, and repeat. Save downloads the selected image only. There is no ZIP download for all rounds. File saving and sharing support varies by device.
Host the quiz in a chat or classroom
Explain the rules first: ‘Guess the picture as I reveal one round at a time.’ Send the saved images starting with round 1 and give players time to answer between rounds. The ninth image in a 3x3 quiz shows the whole picture, so reveal it last. In a classroom, students can say or write their guesses.
Image attribution and sharing
The maker displays the preset’s source and licence. Check the licence conditions and retain required attribution. Choose your own photos only when you have permission to use them. ‘Copy maker link’ invites a friend to create a new quiz; it does not store or share your quiz photo or answer.
